It's getting closer and closer by the minute. The anticipation to leave is beginning to kick in. Thoughts are settling deep within our hearts. Yet, we can only wait in wonder at how God is going to use each of us.
"Lord, let us be your hands and feet."
We cannot share enough the love we have felt through the journey thus far. Thank you for the continual support and prayers. We are blessed! There's something so special about knowing people care and want to experience this alongside us. As a team, hand in hand, we will bring the Good News. Each day will be a new experience; every moment will seem like a lifetime. In the picture above, you will see the smiling faces of Team Rouge. Starting with the back left corner, going clockwise: Bryan Scott, Me "Nikki Altman", Michael Keown, Jayne Post, Mary Gore, and Dory Scott (two of our team members are missing: Hannah and Amy Wadley).
For a long time, I've dreamt about a trip like this. Thinking about the possibilities that are soon to come our way, I smile. As a team, we could not be more ecstatic for God to use us in a mighty way. As we sat in discussion on August 24th, 2010, many thoughts trickled through each of our minds. We shared of the excitement we are filled with. We shared of how we each have a purpose in going to Rwanda. Not always knowing why He has called us, we're going.
God has been showing up in big ways already. Prayers are answered daily, hearts are being shaped and grown for Rwanda...and doors are being opened. In 55 days, Team Rouge will be stepping foot into the Heart of Africa! There are upcoming events that we will keep you posted about! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your hearts that have blown us away.
You are LOVED,
Nikki Altman
Team Rouge Rwanda :)
Please keep the following in prayer:
1) Finances.
2) Boldness.
3) Speaking: Pray that God will use Jayne as she speaks on Forgiveness.
4) Exams/School: Many of us are leaving behind a school year that has just begun. Pray we have His strength and motivation to conquer these exams and work we will be missing.
5) Music: That God will have favor over Michael as he prepares to sing infront of many women.
6) Protection over our family: All of us are leaving behind loved ones. While we are away, we pray that God will protect them spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally.
7) Peace and affirmation for the trip.
8) Protection on our team.
9) Faith that will move mountains!
10) Departure from Africa: We will be growing huge hearts for Rwanda while we are there. As we depart back home, we pray that our hearts will be filled with peace.
